Terms of service
These terms cover use of Shely's website, account services, browser client and native apps. Read them with the privacy policy, acceptable use policy and billing and refunds information. For questions, contact [email protected].
Eligibility and authority
You must have the legal capacity to agree to these terms under the law that applies to you. If you are below the legal age to do so independently, do not create an account without the authorisation required by that law. Shely is not directed to children. If you use Shely for an organisation, you must be authorised to act for it and to connect to the servers and handle the data you use.
Your account and security
Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials, devices and recovery material secure. Use the available session controls if you suspect unauthorised access, and notify support. You are responsible for your authorised use of the account; this does not make you automatically liable for activity caused by a failure of Shely's security.
An account password and a saved server password are handled differently, as explained in the privacy policy. Recovery codes can help reset an account password. Support cannot decrypt or reconstruct a vault without the required recovery or unlock material. Keep independent backups of information you cannot afford to lose.
Server access and shared workspaces
Connect only to systems you are authorised to use. You remain responsible for the commands, file changes and access you approve. Confirm host fingerprints and permissions, and take backups before destructive work. Browser sessions use the Shely gateway; native direct connections run from your device. Features and security controls differ by platform and release.
Team administrators manage membership and access to shared resources. Before sharing credentials, recording a session or sending another person's information to the assistant, obtain the authority and notices required by your organisation and applicable law. Removing access does not erase copies someone already received.
Your content and Shely software
You keep your rights in the hosts, keys, files, messages and other content you provide. You allow Shely to process that content only as needed to provide the features you use, including storage, synchronisation, connection routing and forwarding an AI request to its provider. This permission does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted use for unrelated purposes. You must have the rights needed to provide or share the content.
Shely and its branding remain subject to their owners' rights. Components supplied under separate software licences remain governed by those licences. These terms do not restrict rights those licences or applicable law give you.
AI assistance requires your review
AI answers and proposed commands can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsafe. Review them against your actual environment before use. Client approval is required for proposed commands; risk warnings are heuristic checks, not a sandbox or a guarantee of safety. Do not rely on an answer as professional legal, security or other regulated advice. The API and external model providers receive the context you submit, as described in the privacy policy.
Plans, credits and external services
Public paid checkout and purchases of extra credits are not currently available. Prices and paid feature listings describe planned offerings, not an active subscription or a charge. Selecting a plan preview does not complete a purchase. Current allowances and usage limits can vary with your account and workspace; the assistant reports the available balance. No allowance guarantees a particular number of answers.
If paid services become available, the purchase flow must show the price, currency, taxes where applicable, billing interval, any automatic renewal, cancellation method and refund terms before you agree. See billing and refunds. App stores, remote servers, AI providers and other external services have separate terms for their services. Account deletion and cancellation of a store subscription are separate actions.
Availability and responsibility
We do not promise uninterrupted sessions, a particular uptime or that every feature is available on every platform. Maintenance, network failures, provider outages and changes to remote servers can interrupt work. Keep backups and do not use a terminal session as your only recovery path.
Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer protections, privacy rights, statutory warranties or liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude. These terms do not introduce a monetary liability cap, an indemnity obligation or a waiver of access to courts.
Suspension and review
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach of the acceptable use policy, a security risk or a legal requirement. Where safe and lawful, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to address it. You can ask support to review a suspension or restriction. We do not impose a contractual fine or automatic forfeiture of your content for a breach.
Ending use and deletion
You can stop using Shely at any time. To request account deletion, email support from your account address and follow the process in the privacy policy. Signing out or uninstalling does not erase server records. Export what you need before requesting deletion. We do not promise to delete data on your remote servers, another recipient's copies or every local export.
Changes and questions
We may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate service notice or account contact before taking effect where required. New purchase terms apply only through the applicable purchase process, not merely because a price appears on the site. Changes do not remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived or retroactively authorise a new use of personal information.
Contact support about a disagreement or question. Nothing in these terms requires binding arbitration, waives collective remedies or selects a court that overrides protections available under applicable law.
