Included credits refresh every month and unused credits do not roll over. On the plans that allow it (Pro, Max 5 and Max 20 for individuals, Pro and Business for teams) you can buy extra credits, which are kept as a separate balance. On a team plan the credits are pooled: each paid seat adds its monthly credits to the team’s balance, and per-user limits cap how much any one person can use.
Extra credits come in packs: 100 for $4, 250 for $9, 500 for $17, 1,000 for $32. They do not expire, the monthly reset leaves them alone, and a request uses the month’s credits first. Buying is not open yet, and nothing is ever bought automatically when your credits run out.
What a request costs. This is not final yet. We are measuring what the models really cost before launch, and we will list examples here, such as what explaining a command or working through a failing service uses. Until then, read the credit amounts as a rough sense of size, not a promise of how many requests you will get.
